HoN eSports Weekly
We're officially over halfway finished with HoN Tour Season 3 cycles, and once more the throne has been passed. Though this time around, the face is a bit more familiar. Outside of HoN Tour there are more Weekly Cups than ever, with the new Grimm's Crossing entering the fields of battle!HoN Tour Diamond Division
Teams entered Cycle 5 with new hope. BMG had just dethroned the kings, and previously mid-tier teams were competing with the top dogs. However, it didn't take long to see that there would be no repeat champs. BMG were knocked out in 5/6th place in the first weekend, leaving Nullstone Gaming to chase the crown. With a 2-0 victory over REXXARS and a 2-1 over willowkeeper, Nullstone managed to make it all the way to the Grand Finals, but Sync was having none of that. A 3-0 victory for Sync put them back in the top spot, but their 9-1 run, including 5-0 WB/Grand Finals performance, is what really emphasized how the boys were back. They'll hold the spot until HoN Tour kicks back up with Cycle 6 starting on... December 6th!HoN Tour Lower Divisions
The boys from Reason Gaming made it a personal mission to show they weren't all washed up. After elimination from Diamond in Cycle 4, Rea went for the full WB route in Gold to take the division 2-0 over Prime Icarus. Both Reason and PI will join Diamond Division for Cycle 6 – congrats! Fan favorites FROGF No HIPPO made an appearance once more – this time in the Silver Division Finals. Though they looked good throughout, but their opponents, Hot Pho Factory, proved too dominant and took the Finals with a 2-0 sweep. The Bronze Division was a blast from the past as Frenetic Array - a fan recreation at least – took a 2-0 victory over Me Are Rus. With a win here, they're on their way up, but only time will tell if they'll live up to the team's legendary name.Weekly Cups
Midwars Cup #3 had some pretty solid attendance last week, even with some multi-gaming organizations showing up like Ninjas in Pyjamas and Hellraisers! Ultimately it was the familiar faces in the finals - Shrek is Love and Mid Wars Champs Big Bux Money Crew. Shrek is Love came out on top this week, as they walked away with a 2-1 victory, and the throne – at least until the next week! The Grimm's Cup #3 featured many of the same faces, but this time it was the legends, Grimm's United that were able to take down strong teams like Prime Icarus and Vortex eSports to claim a 2-0 victory and yet another Grimm's win. Congrats! This Weeks Event's
With Sync securely on the HoN Tour throne, the event is on hiatus until early December, but there are plenty of other awesome competitions. Mid Wars Cup #4 runs on Thursday, while Grimm's Cup #4 runs Friday, featuring the new version of the map, and a $600 cash prize pool! Rounding out the over 30k Gold Coin week, is the 20,000 Gold Coin 5v5 Cup running Saturday and Sunday. Get your competition on and be sure to sign up for the events and show Newerth what you've got!
We'll catch you next time for another HoN eSports Weekly!

HoN eSports Weekly 10/29
We've just finished up the most exciting weekend of HoN Tour action this season, so lets take a look back on this week in HoN eSports!HoN Tour Diamond Division
The cycle started with upsets left and right as previously ranked top 3 teams like Reason Gaming and willowkeeper were knocked down to Gold and eliminated in 5/6th respectively. In their place teams Night Raid (formerly The Last of US) and Dawn made their way into the top four, but the biggest upset happened in the top two. After a major roster shakeup in Cycle 2, Bad Monkey Gaming is back with wins in the WB Finals and a 3-2 victory in the Grand Finals. As a result, Sync eSports fell short of a record breaking 4 Cycle wins in a row, and remains tied with World Champions stayGreen. With a week before the next Diamond Division, Sync will have to train hard to reclaim their throne.
HoN Tour Lower Divisions
The Gold Division is still ongoing and looks to finish up in the upcoming weekend. With that being said, former Diamond squads make up the top three teams with Carnage in Caldavar Cycle 1 standouts REXXARS sitting in the Grand Finals, while Shrek is Love and WOP DASH will fight for the last Diamond spot and a chance to win the division. Things finished up just fine in the Silver Division where Dishonored took a 2-0 victory over SuperHeroesPlayinHoN to win the division, and advance to Gold. And finally, in the Bronze Division Hot Pho Factory was too delicious for their opponents to handle as they squeezed out a 2-1 win to take the championship.Weekly Cups
The final Variety Cup, #29, finished up with a trip to Midwars, and ended much like it began. The Big Bux Money Crew took a 2-1 victory over the combined XVII Exclusives, and with that Bux claimed their 17th win in a Weekly Cup. With the new Midwars Cup just around the corner, I'm sure the Big Bux Money Crew will be bringing home their next first place in the not too distant future. This Week's Events
This week HoN Tour takes a break as teams ramp up for the next cycle, but don't worry, there is still plenty of action to be found! The first editions of the Midwars Cup and the Grimm's Cup kick off this week, while the 5v5 Cup will happen during the weekend. The Midwars Cup runs on Thursday, starting at 1pm EDT/1800 CET, while The Grimm's Cup runs on Friday for Halloween. Both Cups have registration open until just before the event starts, and will award Harvest Goody Bags to top placing teams, so don't miss out! And for those out there looking for practice in the 5v5 format, the 5v5 Cup begins on Saturday, so make sure to register!

HoN eSports Weekly 10/8
Welcome back HoN eSports fans! It's time for another update on HoN competition, including the recently completed HoN Tour Cycle 3, the Variety Cup, and a brand new event happening this weekend! Shall we get started?
HoN Tour Diamond Division
After three cycles in HoN Tour Season 3, Sync eSports has completed their hat trick, becoming the first team since stayGreen over a year ago to take three consecutive cycles. Sync's 3-1 victory over willowkeeper in the Grand Finals was a hotly contested match, but ultimately, Sync appeared to continually out-class their opponents. willowkeeper certainly wanted the gold, but showed consistency, taking their second silver finish in the division, while previous bronze medalists Nullstone Gaming fell significantly, into the 5/6th spot. Replacing the Stonies was the reincarnated Bad Monkey Gaming, who seem to have finally gotten their sea legs. Rounding out the top 4 are the American hopes, The Last of US, who will proceed forward without Narcy, but instead with the assistance of BabyGoatar, perhaps a familiar name from the past.
HoN Tour Lower Divisions
The Gold Division was a hotbed of competition this cycle, much like it has been throughout this entire season. Former players returned in fan favorite squads like Not Excellent and FunInTheSunv2, but ultimately the old dogs didn't match up. Not Excellent made it to the 5/6th position before being eliminated by Prime Icarus, the eventual Gold Division runners up. In the end, it was Dawn who came out victorious, securing first with a close 3-2 victory over the competition. Both Dawn and Prime Icarus advance to the Diamond division to replace Twisted Fuzion and WOP DASH.
In the Silver Division Systembo Laget managed a 2-0 victory over The Boy5 in the Finals, meaning those teams will ascend the ranks to Gold. Joining them will be Team Zenzyg and the venerable Hussars. On the Bronze side of things, Triumph came out, well, triumphant. Their 2-0 victory over SuperHeroesPlayinHon nets them a solid seed in the next Silver division, as well as some serious Gold Coins! Keep an eye on these up-and-coming teams.
Variety Cup #26
This past week's Variety Cup took us back once more to the land of Midwars. Here the crew of [XVII]The MW Powerhouse battled through the large bracket to secure a 2-0 victory over the Big Bux Money Crew. The 14 time Midwars Champs weren't able to take down the evidently extremely powerful Powerhouse, and will have to keep tabs on the next Midwars event (not too far off!).
This Week's Events

HoN eSports Weekly 9/9
HoN eSports Weekly 9/9
Hey there HoN eSports fans! We've got another update on all the competitions going on in HoN, including the fiercly competitive HoN Tour Diamond Division, the lower divisions, and an unusual take on this week's Variety Cup. Lets dive right in!HoN Tour Diamond Division
Cycle 2 kicked off this past weekend, and it posed a lot of questions. How dominant are Sync looking? Will BMG recover from their roster shakeup? What's with the new team, Nullstone Gaming? And who will take the big step to fill the shoes of previous top contenders. Some of those questions were answered, as Sync 2-0'd their way to a spot in the Winner's Finals,. There they will be joined by new dominant force willowkeeper, who took a similar path through REXXARS and Bad Monkey Gaming. BMG fell early into the Loser's Bracket, but recovered with a win over WOP DASH, putting them in the top four going into the second weekend.
The new North American Squad, Nullstone Gaming, was the talk of the town after their run in the Diamond Division. After being dispatched 2-0 by BMG in the upper bracket, Nullstone managed to defeat REXXARS, knocking them to Gold, and took a big upset over #3 ranked Reason Gaming. The new squad features former The Last of US talent like BeaverBanger and WhaT_YoU_GoT, but so far they are looking like real contenders. Be sure to keep an eye on them over the next few cyclesHoN Tour Lower Divisions
After being knocked out of Diamond Division after the first cycle, Shrek is Love and recently reformed The Last of US are fighting to get back into the top division. The two elevator teams are currently in the Winner's Finals of the Gold Division, with at least one guaranteed to make a Diamond comeback. Other competition for that right includes well known teams like Adrians Familj, Twisted Fuzion, DONKEKONG, and the always entertaining FROG No HIPPO.
The recently returned players of FunintheSun v2 are in the middle of an impressive run through the Silver Division. Parakletos and the boys are in the finals, where the HT Season 2 Playoff Team TangZangPang looks to put a stop to the run, and claim victory for themselves. Both teams have already qualified for Gold Division next cycle, so look out for these names. The large Bronze Division is also narrowed down to just four. Each of the teams will bump up to Silver in just a few weeks, but until then The Boy5, Viper eSportsklubb, GermanSquad5 Alpha, and Coil are looking to bring home a Bronze championship.Variety Cup
Though they were stopped short in the Diamond Division, Dawn came through in the Variety Cup #22. With back-to-back victories in the Grimm's Crossing event they're looking to one up the boys of Grimm's United, but the competition of this event was a bit less than usual. In any case, this week the competition will likely be back in force as the Variety Cup goes to Forests of Caldavar. This Week's Events
Registration for Variety Cup #23 is open now! The weekly takes a journey into Forests of Caldavar with this Captain's Pick Tournament, so be sure to test your might against some formidable 5v5 teams! HoN Tour Cycle 2 continues this weekend, so be sure to tune in to coverage from Honcast and the HoN Community Casters!

HoN eSports Weekly 9/4
HoN eSports Weekly 9/4
The HoN Tour Season is in full swing, and with it comes new winners, story lines, and tons of prizes in competitive play! Cycle 1 finished up last week, and a new champion is in the spotlight, but in just a few short days, teams will get another chance to dethrone the kings. Let's take a look at what is going on in HoN eSports!HoN Tour Season 3
With the first cycle having closed up, some fans were a bit shocked to see Sync eSports, the #2 ranked team in HoN, take a win in the Grand Finals. The 3-2 victory over Bad Monkey Gaming was hard fraught, but in the end Sync came out on top, taking home the lion's share of the over $30,000 cycle 1 prize pool. Shortly after, BMG went through a roster shakeup, with captain Handsken and long-time members Sealkid and Jonassomfan departing, only to be replaced by returning competitors Haxxeren, Tankafett, and Support. The new Monkeys will be put to the test in the upcoming weeks, while Sync looks to defend their new found throne.
Outside of the top two, Willowkeeper brought home the Bronze with a 2-0 sweep over fourth place Reason Gaming. These two squads will be in prime contention for a spot in the Grand Finals, as a vacancy may well be created in the absence of the former BMG lineup. Teams Shrek is Love and The Last of US were knocked out of the Diamond division due to poor performance, though some members of the NA based tUS joined a newly promoted squad, Nullstone Gaming.
The recent Gold Division Champions will be tested against BMG in the first match of Cycle 2, this Saturday. Finally, Moes Tavern, now known as WOP WOP, were promoted from the Gold Division, and will face considerable competition in Sync eSports during their first round match. Former Diamond team You Love To Party found some success with a win in the Silver Division, while FunintheSun v2 took the Bronze Division in a blast from the past.
This past weekend showed a reincarnation of the 5v5 Cup as a means of giving teams a competitive outlet during off-weeks of HoN Tour. The 5v5 Cup saw many Gold and even Diamond level teams, and provided lots of action to fans on the streams of HoN Community Casters. In the end, Twisted Fuzion brought down DONKEKONG 2-1 in the finals, in what could soon be a Diamond Division match-up.
Variety Cup #21 took teams back to the 3v3 arena, Grimm's Crossing. Here, many of the regulars showed up, including Midwars gods, Big Bux Money Crew, Gold Division (and future 5v5 Cup #4 champs) Twisted Fuzion, and even the solid Diamond squad, Dawn. In the end, the high level competition of the Diamond Division seems to have prepared Dawn for all levels of battle, as they took home the win 2-0 over BUX in the Finals. This Week's Events
Registration is still open for Variety Cup #22, with a trip once more to Grimm's Crossing. Returning victors, Dawn, are sure to be there, so make sure to practice up for this exciting 3v3 event. Additionally, HoN Tour Cycle 2 kicks off on Saturday with a prize pool of nearly $32,000; well done community! Sign-ups for the Bronze division are still open, so be sure to get in on the action and fun! For those who prefer to watch, Honcast coverage begins on Saturday at 12pm EDT | 1800 CEST with match-ups like Nullstone Gaming vs BMG, or REXXARS vs Willowkeeper. Be sure to tune in for all the fun!
